Professor Emeritus Dr. Stuart A. Ryder, 90, passed away on May 4 after a brief illness. Lovingly known as “Doc” Ryder for decades while he was a faculty member and faculty liaison to the Judson Athletic programs, Dr. Ryder had developed long-term relationships with former students, alumni and colleagues who loved him like family and watched over him as he lived on campus over the years.
The Homecoming highlight for many of us was the celebration of life service for Dr. Stuart "Doc" Ryder, a mentor to me and countless others over a 50-year ministry at Judson. Several of us alums shared in the service, along with President Gene Crume, Chancellor Jerry Cain, and former Worship Arts and Communication Arts chair Dr. Brenda Buckley-Hughes. HERE is the link.
